George R. Durgan~A Biography

After "Sleeping With The Dogs" is published:
I will be working on a biography of the infamous Mayor of Lafayette, Indiana. George Richard Durgan, also known as "The Dandy Little Mayor," he was the city's longest serving chief executive. He later became elected to Congress.  Durgan was accused of everything from winking at poker games,(held in the basement of the courthouse), to losing thousands of dollars in city funds.  He was also instrumental in opposing the KKK. My ancestor was, to say the least, a very colorful character.
